Department of Emergency Medicine at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is one of the youngest disciplines established in the year 2007 from the old Casualty.

The department has a team of Medical Officers, Nurses and support staffs trained in Basic Life Support, Triage system, Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support which caters to the community 24hrs a day. It is well supported by the Trauma Team (General surgeon, Orthopaedician,Anesthetist), radiology, CT, MRI, laboratory services and Intensive Care Unit round the clock.

Department of Emergency Medicine is a part of the academic units which render training in life support courses, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, disaster management, pre hospital care and trauma to the students, nurses and the public.
