PSG join hands with Global Partner to Support Hearing-Impaired Children

PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, in collaboration with the Medical Intervention Team (MIT) from Germany, Shanti Ashram of Coimbatore, and the International Centre for Public Health (ICPH), launched a notable initiative to support children and students with hearing impairments. Through this partnership, 63 hearing aids were provided to vulnerable children and students. To highlight this collaborative effort, a press meeting was held at PSG Hospitals on June 3, 2025. The meeting was organised to share details of the joint initiative. 2 Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director of PSG Hospitals; Dr. Kezevino Aram, President of Shanti Ashram and Founder of ICPH; Barun Sarkar from the Medical Intervention Team, along with another esteemed delegate from MIT, addressed the media and explained the vision and execution of the partnership. During the event, the MIT team also presented advanced auditory screening equipment worth ₹36 lakhs to PSG Hospitals. The 63 hearing aids distributed were sponsored by MIT, with each device being custom-made to suit the individual’s ear. Each hearing aid is valued at approximately ₹2.5 lakhs. 1 ENT specialists from PSG Hospitals, as well as the beneficiaries of the hearing aids and their parents or guardians, were present at the event.
