Developmental Pediatrics

Developmental-behavioral pediatrics is securely embedded as a subspecialty within pediatrics. At the same time, it remains an interdisciplinary field integrating psychology, pediatrics, and related disciplines.

Developmental-behavioral pediatrics focuses on strengths and weakness of the child. They evaluate counsel and provide treatment for children, adolescents along with their family members to overcome these challenges.

LOCATION

Welcome to Department of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics. We are situated at Suite No. 404 on the 4th Floor of B block. Take Lift No. 8, we are placed opposite the lift.

We are a team of Developmental pediatrician, secretary, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and occupational therapist. We function from 8am to 5pm on weekdays including Saturday.

We manage all conditions that come under the full scope of developmental &behavioral pediatrics including speech delay, autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, motor coordination disorders, learning problems, genetic syndromes, behavior management and any other conditions involving child developmental needs and early intervention of NICU graduates including preterm.

PROCESS

At first your child will be examined by the developmental pediatrician who will listen to your concerns, help diagnose the problem then plan the multidisciplinary assessments and investigations, if needed. After this consultation, you will be guided by our secretary to book the slots for the assessment and intervention with our therapists.

The assessments and therapy sessions will involve up to 30 sessions (maximum) of 1 hour each, with up to10 sessions with each of the 3 therapists (psychologist, speech and OT). These will be booked based on your convenience, but we advise you to complete these within a month of seeing the doctor, for maximum benefit. Following this the doctor will talk to you about your child’s needs and answer all your queries and give you a full medical report. After this, the therapy and follow up will continue as planned.

We practice parent mediated intervention, which means that we will work with both the caregiver and the child, so that the caregiver is an active participant in the therapy. We believe the “Caregiver is the best Therapist”.
