There are various commercially available robotic surgical systems used ,out of which the most widely used system and time tested system is the Da vinci system made by Intutive surgicals of USA. The da vinci systems are most used robotic systems world wide with more than million surgical procedures performed using the system and in use for more than 15 years. The fourth generation Robotic system has been introduced by intuitive surgical, where as the other systems are of the first generation only due to their recent entry. It mainly composes of three compartments

The surgeons console
Patient cart
The vision cart

Al these three compartments operates together to enable the surgeon to perform the procedure with ease and dexterity.The surgeons console is the place where the surgeon sits. From this area the surgeon can visualize and has the master control of all the attached compartments. From the console the surgeon will be able to view surgical field in real time with high definition 3D vision and magnification upto 8 times. The patients cart is kept beside the patients table where the patient is operated on. The patients cart mainly holds the instruments required for the surgery and the camera. It has 3-4 arms. One arm has the camera attached to it and the other two arms acts as the surgeons arms holding the instruments. The vision cart is the third compartment that enables the communications between the compartments to take place.
